Overview of a Classical Christian High School
Since its founding in 2001, Augustine School has looked forward to one day offering a high school consistent with the mission and vision of Augustine School. As a Christian school in the classical tradition, the high school years will in many ways be the culmination of work done in previous grades. At Augustine School we affirm that the purpose of education is to help shape and form wise and virtuous young men and women who are learning to submit all things to the universal lordship of Christ. C.S. Lewis once said that the purpose of education is "to make the pupil a good man." At Augustine School we affirm that the purpose of education is to form a certain type of person beyond simply preparing students for a career.
The curriculum of any school serves as the course by which a certain end is sought. The end of an Augustine School education is the formation of a certain kind of person. Rather than simply subjects, the course of study at Augustine School encompasses disciplines, for in the discipline of study students can be shaped and molded to become what they ought—under God—to become. Augustine School disciplines are designed to help shape and form students by imparting knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, and by cultivating those skills necessary to live wise and virtuous lives in the tumultuous post-Christian society in which we find ourselves.
Further, like the best of Christian thought, Augustine School seeks both to prepare students for life in this world and for life in the next. For, as great Christian thinkers like Augustine and Aquinas taught, the ultimate goal of education is to prepare us for our ultimate destiny, one day seeing God face to face. And as we pilgrims travel to that ultimate destiny, a great eduation helps us know how to live wisely and well in the here and now, as we seek to glorify God in the places and times to which He has called us.

A Proven Model of Education
As a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS), Augustine School is part of a growing movement to recover the classical Christian model of education that has proven so successful throughout western history. Although the primary benefit of this model of education is its ability to cultivate wisdom and virtue, ACCS schools have also consistently proven their ability to meet and exceed the highest standards for college preparation as measured by college entrance exams, such as the SAT.
College Admissions Students from ACCS schools have been accepted to some of the world’s best colleges and universities, including: Duke University, Wheaton College, Oxford University, University of Chicago, U. S. Military Academy at West Point, Vanderbilt University, Union University.
